Kilauea Volcano Update
UPDATE as of May 8th: As many of you are aware, there has been a recent eruption of the Kilauea Volcano. This volcano is on the south-east side of the Big Island of Hawaii, while the upcoming NSREC is on the north-west side of the island. To date, the air quality at the Waikoloa Village Hilton is unchanged, and there was no damage from the earthquake. We have been told that the wind patterns and associated geography are such that the air quality is not expected to change as a result of the volcanic activity. We will keep you posted on any developments that could impact the upcoming NSREC.
Note that the companion event to visit Volcano National Park is still on as scheduled. As there is a strict limit on the number of participants that can attend this event, if you are interested, it is strongly recommended you make your reservation now while tickets are still available. If, for some reason the plans for this event need to change, everyone who has signed up for this event will be given the opportunity to receive a full refund.
