July 19–23, 2027 at The Westin Peachtree Plaza in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Following the usual NSREC pattern, the Short Course is held on Monday and the technical program runs Tuesday through Friday; the detailed schedule will be posted with the technical program.
Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) is among the best-connected airports in the world, with nonstop flights from six continents. MARTA rail runs directly from the airport to downtown, with a station next to the Westin. Taxis and ride services are also available at the airport.
Online registration opens in spring 2027. On site, the NSREC registration desk will be at The Westin Peachtree Plaza; the exact location and hours will be posted on the Information page before the conference. Please wear your badge for sessions, the exhibit hall, and the receptions.
Monday is the one-day Short Course. The technical program runs Tuesday through Friday with oral sessions, a poster session, and the Radiation Effects Data Workshop, plus the Industrial Exhibit. In recent years breakfasts and breaks have been provided and lunches served in the Exhibit Hall with the exhibitors.
Atlanta is in the United States, so check U.S. visa or ESTA requirements for your country early. International participation is strongly encouraged, and IEEE membership is not required to present or attend.
Atlanta in late July is hot and humid, with typical highs near 89°F (32°C) and afternoon thunderstorms. Pack light, breathable business-casual clothing plus a layer for cool meeting rooms, and comfortable shoes for exploring downtown on foot.
The Westin sits in the heart of downtown. Centennial Olympic Park, the World of Coca-Cola, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, and the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park are all within walking distance of the hotel, and MARTA rail connects downtown with the rest of the city. A venue guide for the conference functions will be posted closer to the conference.
The 2027 social program, companion tours, and the Conference Social will be announced with registration in spring 2027.
Submit a paper summary through this website by February 5, 2027. Summaries are two to four pages as a single PDF with a cover page and an abstract of up to 35 words; full formatting requirements are in the First Call for Papers, and detailed submission instructions are posted December 1, 2026. Accepted papers are expected to be published in the NSREC special issue of the IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science in spring 2028.
